Pasquale for King Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Mahomes and Kelcy looked ready to cry, or start blaming all their teammates 🤣. Brilliant to watch, especially after their fawning comments about Trump turning up, pair of *****. Quote

PortyJambo Posted March 6 Posted March 6 In the desert that is the NFL now after the Super Bowl, there's a bit of an oasis next week with Free Agency starting. Officially it starts on Wednesday, but the "legal tampering" period starts on Monday and, as we all know, all the big deals are pretty much announced from then rather than at the official start. Then we get the draft in April, before the real barren spell starts after that until August. Quote

PortyJambo Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Tunsil traded for a haul, again, to the Commanders. Not for as much as the Dolphins got for him, no 1st round picks this time, but 2nd and other picks for Tunsil and a 4th. I'm a little surprised that the Texans have traded him, maybe time to get something back for him but he's still a quality LT Quote
PortyJambo Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Twitter has been down for much of today (thanks Elon) so not so easy to keep track of FA (planned) signings, but the Patriots have fair been splashing the cash. They had a lot of it though, so probably had to, especially with a new coach in Vrabel. My Dolphins have been quiet, ok silent, so far. Hopefully they're just waiting for some value FA's, rather than the inflated contracts some mediocre players have been getting on Day 1, but they better do something, especially on the OL... Quote

Texans issue has been their offensive line recently. They’ve managed to trade Kenyon Green and Tunsil for a pile of picks CJ Gardner Johnson, plus a saving on the cap front. Not a bad return. Quote

We have also addressed the gap at corner opposite Joey Porter Jr by taking Darius Slay on a 1 year $10m deal Quote

PortyJambo Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Rodgers is apparently waiting to hear if the Vikings are going to make an offer to him before deciding on where he plays next. Giants have made the biggest money offer to him so far, but I'd suspect he'd choose the Steelers over the Giants if the Vikings don't make him an offer, or if it's not an attractive enough offer. The Vikings supposedly haven't decided yet if they're interested, but it seems they're considering whether they really want to go into the next season starting JJ McCarthy coming off a significant injury and never having played yet in the NFL. Very reminiscent of Favre going to the Vikings after the Packers and Jets, plus all the circus around where he was going to go next to play, or whether he was going to retire. Quote

Seemingly Rodgers was looking for $90m over 2 years initially but that's dropped now to $30-35m per year, either way I still think that's too much for him to land at the Steelers Quote

Hope it's vikings or retirement and not the steelers, honestly kinda happy for us to tank the upcoming season and with an additional 4 compensatory picks for 2026 go all out for a franchise QB in next years draft which is looking to have a much stronger QB class than this year Quote

PortyJambo Posted April 16 Posted April 16 A week tomorrow for the 1st round of the Draft starting. Who are you wanting/expecting to be your team's pick? OL has been mocked to the Dolphins a lot at the 13th pick, but I'm expecting a DB if I'm honest, especially with the news that Ramsey is likely to be traded. DT would be my second guess, but Grier likes an early DB pick, and that's seen as a "value" position pick for the 1st round. As far as names, I'm leaning towards Will Johnson (might go before #13) or Jahdae Barron. A trade down a few spots might be on the cards too, but team supposedly aren't that interested in trading up in this draft due to the perceived lack of top end talent available. Now, it might not be a need, but I'd love to get Ashton Jeanty, as I think he could be a future HoF RB. And TE Tyler Warren would be nice too. I'm just not expecting Jeanty to be available, or a TE to be the pick. Quote

Said it before we selected him and still of the same mindset that Richardson is a donkey, but nobody decent in this draft at QB, so just have to wait and see how we balls this one up😞 Can’t wait for the draft though, love watching it. I love watching the draft too. Always watch the 1st round, and usually the 2nd/3rd. I then tend to just keep track of who's picked in the 4th-7th, but interest is starting to wane by that time. And, when it's over, spend time analysing and reading about all my team's picks, and trying to persuade myself how good we're going to be...or not. I especially enjoy when my team trades up, that excitement to see who we're after....followed by inevitable disappointment when it's not who you're hoping for It's not a great draft to be looking for a QB for your Colts, barely any to get excited about. It might be interesting to see where Shadeur Sanders goes, although I'm glad it won't be my Dolphins, as it's bound to turn into the Sanders Family Show for any team that drafts him! Quote
