Jed The Jedi
Not my side of town Doug but the mixed chicken and donner from Giovannis on Northfield brodaway is outstanding.
blondejamtart
Never eat doner kebabs, but a good chicken kebab is lovely - mind you, give me proper Turkish kebabs any day! No comparison whatsoever to the kind you get over here!

It's not that it's hotter, Doug - it's that the meat is just far, far better. Not greasy or fatty - just succulent and beautiful. If you ever find yourself in the big smoke, there are a few places on the Edgware Road which are probably the closest thing the UK has in terms of real, authentic chicken kebabs. To be honest, there's such a wide range of "proper" kebabs in Turkey that it's hard to explain just how good they are. You get everything from ones made with minced meat to lamb and chicken, served with different sauce and varying in "heat" from quite mild to really spicy. Main meal kebabs are usually served with rice and other vegetables, while you can buy doner kebabs (made with proper meat or chicken) served in a pitta bread with salad, similar to what we get here, for a pittance over there - couple of pound if you're lucky! chester copperpot
Chicken Kebabs have been the only takeaway food that I have had the last 3 months, so have became a bit of an expert on them TBH. If you find a great great Chicken Kebab, there's nothing better IMO.
The Old Tolbooth
I find the chicken in kebabs a bit bland and boring unless it's been marinated, but I love a sheikh kebab with the proper lamb meat, tons of spicy onions, and hot chilli sauce. Yum!

I have been for the last week or two, the suits are starting to give up strangling me and I might not need to buy extra long ties just to fit round my neck anymore :santa1:
