Fair play to her for having the baws to gamble 1/4 million against 1p.

Delighted she got 1p though.

One penny.

If people are to relate amusing anecdotes, I do wish they would not spoil the humour by fouling up the grammar. Tcch! :)

It's nomenclature, not grammar. :smoking:

serves her right.

Deal or No Deal is not about getting about the 250k box, its about playing it so you get a good offer and take it at the point its likely to be highest.

She should have taken ?88,000 rather than being a greedy/dumb bint.

I take it you have your own made in UK version, good to know there are idiots both sides of the pond. I mean of course the people who reject good deals to go for the big prize.

She actually took the crushing blow very well. But I suspect that's because she has dementia and didn't realise what was happening. :smiley2:

The British one started shortly before the original US series.

Father Tiresias

Having watched the show myself may I say that some of your comments are well out of order.

She was a 74-year-old who was single minded in her quest to land the ?250,000 and it made great viewing.

Ok, she lost, but fair play to her and you know what? I don't think she'll lose a moments sleep about the decision she made.

She'll probably have a fecking heart attack and peg it when the enormity of it all finally dawns on her.

?88,000 gamble is just plain insanity.

if it was about ?30,000 or ?40,000 i might take the gamble because you're being given huge odds for a 50/50 gamble but ?88,000 isn't all that far short of the ?125,000 halfway house.

i admire the bottle but it is as daft as s****.

Feck the banker. Just breeze in , select a box then open it and cut out all the mind numbing f@nnying about.

Goldenballs is a far superior game show.

Always take the swap. Probability says so.

I'm not sure it does.

2/1 odds on an evens proposition seems like it would be daft to turn it down.

Depends on the Bankroll management. Personally, I would have asked for ?95k and seen what happened!

But If I was a millionaire I would have gambled.. But I'm not.. ?88k.. yes please!"
