Alright,

Im heading up to one of the lodges at piperdam next week with the girlfriend and wondering if theres much to do during the day near piperdam?

Thinking of heading to dundee shopping one day but no sure what else there is to do?

Also is there any kind of takeaways near by within a reasonable driving distance cause thinking about getting one in one night?

Cheers

Stayed there and never got further than the gate. Sauna, Jacuzzi etc. Great place just to chill out.

What did you do for meals? Did you take stuff up with you and cook or go to the restaurant onsite or...?

Piper Dam is in the middle of nowhere, there is nothing within walking distance. Nearest place to go would be Dundee, even for a takeaway. If you're heading out for something to eat you should try The Birkie, food is great and place is always busy. Turn right out of Piper Dam and drive towards Dundee it's pretty much the 1st place you get to.

I got married there in May

Had a Vegas lodge, a Muirloch Lodge and another 1 that slept 6. (cant remember its name). I love the place, like has been said before there is not much to do, but the restaurant/bar serves decent food, i never got passed the sauna, hot tub, snooker table and 42" tv's on the walls. Although i did make it to the range to hit some ba's a couple of times!

The take aways in Dundee deliver there if you dont fancy eating out or cooking.

We liked it so much we have booked another week in Vegas lodge in Oct 2010

Im jealous now :(

Went with the G/F for a 3 nights a couple of months ago and we didn't get passed the gates. We just ate in the restaraunt and cooked for ourselves. Nice relaxing break and mind your gold clubs and speedos.

It is a fab place been to a few weddings there and I am from dundee so know that neck of the woods pretty well.

Speak to the staff re take aways probably a few at the west end of town that would deliver.

If you are looking for somewhere to go for something to eat you could always head for Coupar Angus, its a wee place but has some nice pubs that do good pub foot.

Dundee is pretty good for shopping head for the Overgate centre, Big shopping centre got a big Primark, New Look, USC, Debenhams and such like.

If you are driving and heading to Dundee, you could also head for Broughty Ferry some really nice places for food there.

I'm actually going up there this weekend.

Does anyone know the best place to get a pub lunch on Saturday - a place that may also have sky sports & be showing the liverpool vs man city game would be particularly handy...!

You could try the Red House Hotel in Coupar Angus or, someone has already mentioned the Birkie inn just down the road from Piper dam.

I would suspect it will be on in the Clubhouse/Bar, there was sport on last time i was there

This may seem a daft question but... is that in the actual place itself?

Cheers!
