maltese jambo
Stopping over there for half a day before continuing onto Edinburgh, wonder if anyone has any suggestions for something to do in Gerona? (wont be worth going to Barcelona and back as i only have about 6 hours).
Cut The Crap
In half a day you can wander along the Onyar river through the centre of town, visit the baroque cathedral, then climb up onto the old ramparts and walk along the well-preserved city wall for fantastic views across the town and surrounding countryside. You'll probably also have enough time for a spot of lunch or afternoon beer in one of the cafes in the Rambla de la Llibertat. http://www.girona.cat/turisme/eng/activitats.php

I always recommend that people who are staying a few days in Barcelona make a point of visiting Gerona during their trip, as it is very historical and beautiful and provides a perfect contrast to the big city. (But, then again, I don't like Barcelona much...! )
