Forgotten classic albums

Introduced to this album back when it came out by the ranting taxi driver, Davie McGee.

All time classic and easily the best band in the British punk scene.

Saw them a few years ago and they still kick ass.

Enough already!! All that happens with these threads is, I ultimately end up spending a fortune. I''l see an album I've not played in years, go raking for it, find out I've lent it or sold it ages ago. Then I go hunting round the shops (which'll end up with a substantial visit to the pub), or spend a fortune on Amazon or similar.

But then its all good fun, you can never have enough music in your life.

The Allman Brother Band - Eat a Peach

Apparently the album is named Eat a Peach because Duane Allman killed himself when he drove his motorbike into the back of a fruit truck carrying peaches.

Some seriously mellow tunes on this slice of joy.

EDIT: another urban myth uncovered -

The widespread story regarding the origin of the album's title, that the truck involved in Duane's fatal motorcycle accident was a peach truck, is not correct; the truck involved was a flatbed lumber truck. Rather the album name came from something Duane said in an interview shortly before he was killed. When asked what he was doing to help the revolution, Duane replied, "There ain't no revolution, it's evolution, but every time I'm in Georgia I eat a peach for peace." The album's name was originally slated to be The Kind We Grow in Dixie, and the artwork for the album showed a peach. Band members were dissatisfied with the name, and the image suggested Duane's quote instead.
