Pubs showing the David Haye fight?

Don Juan

Does anyone know any pubs in town that will be showing the boxing fight on Sat night? Will be on the lash all day for the derby, but really want to see the fight and can't see myself being home for 9pm when it is due to start...

Thanks.

Ta. That is almost too tempting - in a casino when totally smashed, ha ha, recipe for disaster!

Cant see anything other than Haye being smothered for 5 rounds then being banged out.

Valuev is pretty rotten despite his size, Holyfield easily out-boxed him, just by hitting and moving and was robbed of the decision imo, so would imagine Haye could do the same, although there is question marks over what will happen if Valuev hits him on the chin.

Then you may want to get your cash out. Valuev by KO, TKO or disqualification is 9/2.

Personally I'm not sure how it'll go. As Don Juan says, Valuev is huge but he's pretty crap. The sheer difference in size may just be enough though.

Bookies have Haye as favourite with a best price of 4/6.

Not one for the bookies but I might just take a punt on that - cheers Jack.

One fight at heavyweight for Haye? Its going to be a tough night for him.

I reckon Haye will batter him soft but not be able to damage him. Then wear himself out and get hit by a big punch. Game over.

And not really a great advert for the heavyweight division. A man with little skill getting through fights by being huge and hard to damage.

Holyfield was robbed against Valuev.

If Holyfield can last 12 rounds against the big man at 46 years old, then I'm certain Haye can do the same and then some.

Haye to win on points.

Can't wait for this. Haven't a clue how it ill go. Haye is a far better boxer but probably too small.

It's basically a freak show! Roll up!

Nuremberg

Is this actually a 9pm ko or is it a 'Coverage starts at 9pm' with several undercard fights + build up...actual fight 3am.....?

Just need to plan ahead in the bevvy'ing stakes this Sat to still be able to 'see' the fight come first bell.

Betting suspends at 22:00 which is usually a good indicator. I would imagine it will start at about half 10 at latest

Haye on points, hopefully the Liquorice will be showing it or the Fantasy Palace :10900:

We are joining the Hobos for a big night out to cheer them up.

Allegedly Valuev reeks of BO so it could be an uncomfortable night for the Haymaker although I fancy him to win on points.

coverage of the fight is also on ARD das erste, which is free to view, from astra 19.2 east, which is the old sky (analogue) satellite. or on the same channel from the hotbird satellite at 13.0 east.

Does anyone know if the Dodger/Crofters is showing it?

Crofters have never put the fights on that are on Box Office. The Dodger might though but couldn't say for certain.

booth(hayes trainer)said on sky sports that valuev promoters have advertised the fight as being just after 9pm,

but they have a contact that stipulates between 10pm-10:30pm and they wont be coming out until that time.

What's Valuev on points?

Best price of about 4-1, which is decent. Valuev's a pretty shoddy boxer but I can see a lot of the rounds being messy and difficult to call so it wouldn't surprise me if the whole thing boils down to a split decision. I know Haye is promising to knock him out but that doesn't seem too likely.

My gut feeling is Haye on points, but I don't think the fight will live up to the hype.

46 year old Holyfield took took Valuev all the way and he's a bit smaller than Haye.

And is this not one guy to beat Valuev?

If Haye loses it will have nothing to do with his size IMO, and all to do with how he tries to box.

Does anyone know if the Pear Tree will be showing the fight?

I think it's Ruiz (Valuev was beaten by Ruslan Chagaev) but Ruiz took him to a split decision so you're spot on about size not necessarily being a factor. Valuev isn't a massively talented boxer.

The Old Tolbooth

I cant believe Hayes is favourite for this, his style of boxing doesn't suit this kind of opponent imo.

Valuev at 7/5 looks a good bet

With the difference in height if Haye loads up , gets the leverage, and catches him on the hee haws it will certainly bring tears to Valuev,s eyes
