Reliable in several positions, and an excellent professional who the younger guys will get a lot of help from. Exactly the sort of dressing room figure we are lacking since Elvis left. Im sure i read he's one of the few players who doesnt even have an agent, which to me indicates he's very professional (or just wants all the signing on fees for himself ) not only that but can play anywhere across the back 4 and in the holding midfield position. I know he's had a reputation as being crap, but you don't get as many caps as he's got and play as many games in England as he's done if you're rubbish. I think he's one of those guys who's quietly effective and can play in a number of positions so never really gets the plaudits. Apparently the Huns are offering him a 6 month loan deal with a view to an extension (same deal as Weir got) but he's obviously not keen on moving if its only a short initial deal. Assuming the wages aren't silly, I'd take him in our team, no questions asked. He's a low-risk signing, better than bringing in more players who are unproven in the British game.
