Balogh - 6 - Very good save from Collin Samuel when I thought he'd gone to far but unless their "goal" was disallowed for offside we were very lucky because he wasn't fouled, he just didn't get anywhere near it. After that he seemed all over the place and didn't get near a single cross.

 

Thomson - 6 - Unable to get forward as muc as against Zagreb and his corners weren't as good. Are our training/reserve pitches the same dimensions as Tynecastle? That might explain why his corners hit the first man every time. Free kicks were good though and put in some decent covering challenges. Needs to learn to pull wider if Obua/Suso need to drop the ball back to him.

 

Bouzid - 5 - Got beat in the air every time the ball came into our boz in the first half and the goal was inevitable. Some decent clearing headers in the second half. Think he may come good once he gets up to pace with Scottish football.

 

Goncalves - 7 - Captain material. Along with Bouzid had a torrid first half but was always there to sweep up. Organises the defence well and would make a very good partnership with Zaliukas imo. Great goal.

 

Wallace - 8 - Getting back to his best. Like everyone else had a poor first half but was excellent in the second. Beat men for fun and if he does that week in, week out he may not be here past January.

 

Suso - 5 - Tends to hold on to the ball too long but I think he showed in the two home friendlies and on Thursday that he is a good player. Another one who will improve once he's got used t the pace of our game.

 

Stewart - 6 - Faded in and out. Kept a cooler head today although there were times when he looked to be setting himself up for his lunge from behind. Missed Ruben alongside him because Black was trying to do the same things as MS.

 

Black - 5 - Not sure if he can play alongside MS although he was much better nearer the end when he became more of a defensive midfielder. Shame he didn't get his head over that short freekick at 2-1.

 

Obua - 7 - Was getting a hell of a lot of abuse for not looking interested but that's just his body language. Him and Stewart were the only two players who were making runs and offering themselves in the first half. Well taken goal. Andy Driver will struggle to get his place back if Obua keeps his recent form up.

 

Glen - 5 - His spell under Frail and goal against Hibs seem to have made people think he's done a lot more for Hearts than he actually has. Although he offers a more direct threat than Nade he was very poor today, didn't link up with the midfield at all, although in the first half the defence just punted long balls to him and Nade despite both being better with the ball at their feet.

 

Nade - 6 - Like Obua, gets a lot of abuse just because of his body language. He's never going to chase folk down all day like MS or Calum Elliot but he did well today in a crap first half. Was at the wrong end to see clearly but it looked like he should have had the penalty and not been booked - unfotunately our reputation precedes us. Linked up well with Witteveen.

 

Subs:

I thought we chucked 2 points because Nade isn't fit enough to chase down forward passes at the end - He should have been off the minute we went 2 up - Cassba was at fault for the timing of his final sub - Witeven's foul was inexcusable - In the first half the game could have been out of sight had Saints been more clinical in front of goal - a draw was probably the right result - although very hard to take

Just back From the match and we were very poor first half and very average in the second half It was like watching a different team to the one that beat zagreb 2-0 and looked awesome on thursday nite.

To be really truthful st johnstone should have had the game out of sight in the first half they had umpteen chances and YES we were that poor I can't remember us having a shot on goal in the first half.

Second half we were slightly better and atleast created something we scored twice and got the lead only to throw it away in the last five minutes by sitting too ****ing deep we invited st johnstone on us and i have too say as painful as it is a draw was a fair result.

Balogh 6 Made a couple of good saves nothing he could do for either goal let down by his defence.

Thomson 7 Did well tries hard and some great crosses and corner kicks.

Bouzid 4 Hes Pish.

Goncalves 7 Not as good as on thursday night but still thought he played well won most of his balls in the air and great header for first goal.

I agree with you. I dont think Bouzid won a single header in the first half and didn't fair much better in the second. Witteveen put himself about a bit and looked eager to impress. Had he not given away that free kick I would have been keen to see him start vs Killie.

Suso 4 - he is not convincing me. may just take a while for him to settle into scottish football
