UK chart hits featuring surname.......

Guess The Crowd

.......of a Hearts player, past or present.

Not counting song titles with colours (ie there are a number of songs with Black, Brown or White), I can only think of two. One is relatively easy, but I'l be impressed if anyone gets the other one quickly.

(There may be more, as I made this up myself, so happy to be proved wrong!)

Mrs Robinson (Robertson) well it's the same isn't it ?

Have to give you that one too - they'd a player called Bobby Robinson (don't want reminded of anyone else of that surname).

There's two others though - at least!

I'm impressed.

The two I had were Kingston Town (which someone got earlier)and Winchester Cathedral, which I thought would take ages.

(I'd a nasty feeling there would be loads more.....:42:)

Good list of songs. They've got to have been a UK hit, mind - Move Over Darling definitely was, did Hearts have a player called that, anyone confirm?

Definitely accepted so far, in addition to Kingston Town and Winchester Cathedral, are:

The Banks of the Ohio

Thorn in my Side - Eurythmics

Itchycoo Park - Small Faces

Mrs Robinson

Long TALL Sally - The Beatles

Young (Alex) Gifted & Black (that's a good one - loads of other songs with Young in it)

It's got the makings of a decent pub question now...

The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde bu Georgie Fame then.

What about 'Substitute' by the Who. A man of many clubs!!!

'Winchester Cathedral' by the New Vaudeville Band got to number 4 and went to No 1 in the US. Is Ernie Winchester the only player in the world ever whose full name is included in number ones on both sides of the Atlantic.

All my player names can be verified on London Hearts.

Hoping I could turn the tables on you there with Bobby Clyde, but it seems Bobby's Girl only got to No 2 in the US!:42:
