BigC
I'm still fairly new to driving - had my car since November... I've tried replacing a couple of bulbs in my car (tail light and head lamp) - I've got enough spares - but when I put new ones in they don't work. I'm guessing it's just a fuse somewhere, but I wouldn't know where to look. Is it something I can fix myself or should I take it to Halfords/Kwik Fit etc? With 2 out, it's only a matter of time before I get pulled by the rozzers!

Cigaro
Fuse box is probably under your steering wheel or at a similar place in the passenger side. Check the manual for the car for which fuses it is.

trotter
What car do you have? Most light fuses are in the fuse box in the drivers footwell, only big main fuses are under the bonnet. What bulbs have gone?

BigC
Will the fuses be standard 3A or 13A?
Cigaro
Will the fuses be standard 3A or 13A? Na, they are different from the ones in plugs. Come in 5A, 10A, 15A etc I think.

BigC
Cheers for the help.... Although it turned out to be neither the bulb nor the fuse on the front head lamp. It was the mechanic who was doing repairs on the car forgetting to plug it back in!!! The way the plug was hanging down, I couldn't see it, all I could see was the empty socket (which I assumed was for something that my car didn't have... spotlights etc). I got an electrician mate to have a keek and he spotted it straight away. The rear headlamp turned out to be on a tiny wee wire which was screwed in so I didn't realise it was there! (Bulbs and fuses are more like ?1.79 that 20p by the way). Thanks again for the help.
