Well not literally but its given up the ghost and needs replaced. So without wishing to spend any more than I have to on a new one had can anyone recommend a half decent machine for under ?300?? You are best to get an energy efficient one I reckon and everyone has their own ideas about brand names. We got a Hotpoint 1200 spin and it was easily under ?300 and it takes 7kg. It's pretty loud though. We started by looking at John Lewis site then googling the models to get the cheapest deal. Went with Argos in the end just because they delivered quickest.
