Following on from the The Edinburgh Derby Countdown - Team News thread, we look at how each team are going into this match.

 

Hearts go into the Edinburgh Derby having won just one game in their last 6. A 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock after falling behind early is the only win since the 4th of March. We have however played one Derby at Easter Road and 3 games against the Old Firm since then, two at Ibrox and one at Tynecastle against Celtic, picking up 2 points from those games. There was also the goalless draw at Falkirk fighting for their Premier League survival.

 

Hibs' last win came in mid-March, against Hearts. A skillful hea..shoulder from the talented Real Madrid-bound Steven Fletcher was the difference maker at Easter Road. Three draws followed this, a goalless draw at Easter Road against Aberdeen and then two score-draws at Dundee United and St Mirren. May I also note, Hibs blew a 2 goal lead against Dundee United, I can't think of a time Hibs have done this previously, Weir just gonna have to move on... Hibs then went on to lose their next 2 games, 3-2 at home to Rangers and 2-1 at home to Dundee United.

 

The recent meetings at Tynecastle have seen Hearts win the majority. From the Boxing Day '06 clash, Hearts have won 3-2, 2-0. Hibs then earned their first win in almost 2 and a half years at Tynecastle, a 1-0 win on a Monday night. Hearts then won a mid-January match in the first Derby of 2008 1-0. In Csaba's first home Derby, the game finished 0-0.

In this seasons matches, there has been 2 draws, one Hearts win, Nade and Glen the scorers to knock Hibs out of the Scottish Cup and 1 Hibs win in the league.
