Stuart Lyon
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/scotland/article6210924.ece Good article. Interesting that Jenny Dawe thinks the majority of people in Edinburgh support the trams! Why not test that view with a referendum?

Usual collection of figures and opinion that gets trotted out whenever this subject is raised. As newspaper journalism goes, this is filler (not killer, as the saying goes). Miller Jambo 60
i'll use them if i can be bothered walking the 4 miles to get my closest one.. The trams are a bigger joke than Hibs and TBH will never happen. The reason their was no vote because like the congestion charge would have been booted out. Edinburgh city centre is like a war zone and will be like that for a good while. The tourists must wonder what kind of people are running our city. We know who they are and they could not run a pash up in a brewery. This whole sordid project has been a farce from the start wasting so much money. The thing is we have reached the point of no return so turning back would just leave a black hole, similar to all the holes at Haymarket. Why we had to start this project is beyond belief as we have a good bus service in LRT. A service which covers all of Edinburgh, not like the trams that might go from the west of Edinburgh to Leith. Given the electorate voted for candidates/parties that backed the trams at the last election why is there a need for a referendum?
Cade
We DID have a transport referendum. The people of Edinburgh said no. Council ripped it up and carried on regardless.

Not all of Edinburgh unfortunately Doug. Some of us are left paying ridiculous prices for First buses despite paying Edinburgh council tax prices.
