SectionDJambo
In todays Sunday Mail on about last man fouls/red cards. Gives Bamba's red against us as an example of a poor decision because it was Nade, who would not have scored anyway, as he would have missed even if he had managed to round the keeper a yard from goal. He also says that Nade was 35 yards from goal and 2 Hibs defenders would have got back to tackle. What an idiot. Stewart was probably about 35 yards from goal when he made the super pass which wrong footed Bamba and forced him to make a reckless challenge at the edge of the penalty area - whch is approximately 18 yards from goal last I heard, with not a Hibs defender anywhere near capable of getting back in time. And didn't Nade score against Hibs in our Cup win? Must be able to score sometimes. And the snidey comment about Nade being incapable of scoring anyway is a new one for refs to consider. Just imagine if the refs were given license to use their opinion on whether a player was good enough to score or not when clean through. Old Firm player clean through - send off the player who fouled him every time. Anyone else - ach, he wouldn't have scored anyway, so lets not bother with the rules. Why even bother giving a foul? Football is a game of differing opinions - but this man is a baffoon of the highest rank.

Dave Ross
That's incredibly poor journalism.
Spellczech
What does he want? Referees to be more subjective and let their impression of how effectively the striker is playing to be factored into the decision? Utter tripe. There is a problem with the double jeopardy of the red card + penalty. Opposing team captain should have to choose between sending off or penalty... Don't be silly, if someone is in a position to have fouled a player in the box while they were in a goal scoring opportunity they get everything they deserve what if the defender in qustion is already on a yellow card that idea is almost as illogical as the pish Waddell comes out with
DETTY29
I find it strange that Waddell has never commented on Darren Barr publicly chastising opposition players for trying to get him sent him off by feigning injury when a) Barr has now twice tried to head butt opposition players (discipline problem?) and Been prone to the throwing himself to the ground under minimal or even no contact. Then again, it must hurt him that from a national perspective, Falkirk aren't worth commenting on. Falkirk down this season for me and focus on St Mirren and Hibs for future years. :shitwine:
Would the same apply to Kenny Miller, who has equal troubles in scoring, especially for Scotland. How many times have we seen him clean through in big games, only to screw it up?
JamboAl
When papers include absolute drivel like his contribution today it is little wonder circulation has dropped dramatically. I used to regard Waddell as a credible journalist but I'm afraid his efforts are now sub standard and I'm not just saying that because of his anti-Hearts rants. Maybe there's interference from above in what he can and cannot write - oh no, that's just Vlad who does that.
