EuanD
Whats the difference between AAC, MP3, WAV & WMA? And which is best for my Ipod and which takes up less space? Cheers guys!!! AAC is the format that Ipods use, when you put an MP3 into Itunes to upload to your Ipod, Itunes will automatically convert the file from MP3 to AAC WAV is the largest file and is typically what is found on your regular music CD's WMA is a windows media file and can be compressed down more than an MP3 and it is also said to have better sound quality than an MP3
Brian Whittaker's Tache
Well complicated subject. I spent a day researching this as I was trying to get decent quality sounds from my laptop thru a fairly high end stereo at home (compared to CD) Here's a short summary http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_file_format Personally I import everything as AAC as it gives the best balance of sound quality and file size imho. I'm not bothered about having 9 million songs on my iPhone. I'd rather have fewer with better sound quality that I can change whenever I like (I have a 1Tb network HD at home with all my tunes on)
