Trust me half my family were originally Newhaven, and my grannies generation were all born and bred there. The local minister wouldn't let my great gran get married in the church as her husband was an incomer from the highlands.

I live 10mls from Gorgie. But yesterday left Glasgow Airport at 12.51 drove to Aberlady then back to Gorgie and couldn't get a parking space so missed the 1st couple of mins.

Distance as the Crow Flies : 0.587* (But I can't fly so...

 

Distance by Land Transport :0.851* (Walking obviously)!

 

*These distances are to McLeod St. entrance but I use Wheatfield entrance and I usually cut through Sainsbury's so even less distance I would guess!

250 miles. An hour to Leeds, another to Scotch Corner, then one to Newcastle, then the boring one to Berwick and only a last hour to Embra and Tynecatle.
