The Old Tolbooth
I do wish they would get their facts right, they were only in the competition because no one else wanted to enter it, I thought their fans sung a smeltic song about knowing their history, they clearly don't. Next they will be telling us they won a competitoin in Brazil and showed them how to play football.......

I'M IBRAHIM TALL
Actually it was Tottenham Hotspur. A tornament was in existentce bringing together the champions of a set amount of countries before the European Cup. Hibs may have been the first team to play in the tournament of that name but were not the first British team to compete in a tournament consisting of the winners of individual leagues. Its a bit like saying you were the first team to win the CIS cup whilst ignoring those who won it as the Skol Cup or the Coca Cola cup. But since when did the truth make any difference to those mankey bastartds
frankblack
All Hibs did was get into a competition that nobody else was interested in back then. British football was considered the best in the world and transport to europe was expensive. Most teams knocked it back giving way to the Hobos to volunteer for what was as valuable as the modern day Intertoto Cup. The Hobos weren't even league champions - and finished around 5th the previous season (IIRC). Teams like Hearts weren't interested and had more important trophies to aspire to like the league and Scottish Cup :107years:
