Suspect Device Posted December 6, 2008 Share Posted December 6, 2008 so, lets see. a free kick is played into the Hearts box by Adam, Karapidis heads it against his own bar under pressure from Boyd, and as its coming down, Karapidis slips while trying to clear it and knocks it over the line for a goal to Rangers. Kris Boyd hits the bar and the ball comes back out into play before being knocked in by a Hearts player - and Boyd is given the goal. Well there you go. Was taking the pish out of them, and actually gave them too much credit while doing so. Tells its own story. That's not how it happens in a lot of other leagues, though, is it? Rule 13 subsection 6 of the SFA handbook reads: "If a player affiliated to either Rangers FC or Celtic FC has a shot deflected into the goal by an opponent, they shall be credited with the goal, however significant the deflection might be. If a player affiliated to any other club has a shot deflected into the goal by an opponent, the opponent shall be credited with an own goal, however slight the deflection might be.
