I was at a Blackpool v Cardiff match around 15 years ago and it was one of the worst riots I'd ever seen at a match.

Those Cardiff guys are mental.

Can you explain the reasons why they weren't very good at rioting?

******s. Why do these ***** do it? "Look at me - I'm so hard, I'm going to throw a rock innit!"

Swansea are almost as bad as Cardiff - but Cardiff are, with Millwall, the most notorious in the whole UK.

I was at the same fixture around then , think it finished about 3/1 to cardiff but what i remember most is hundreds of Cardiff fans being escorted around the pitch , no colours anywhere

Sounded like a superb atmosphere though. I remember being at Ninian Park a few years ago - 110% racist towards the English. But 110% funny as well.

What's your stance on racism towards Black people, Asian people or Jewish people?

I don't doubt that the Norwich - Ipswich derby has similar scenes

Er - I do doubt it. It's not pleasant, particularly at or around Portaloo Road (club shop sponsor, World of Punch - I didn't hang around to see if they were offering free samples), but it's nothing like that.

Okay then if you say so.

I just think your comment about Cardiff having the worst crew in the UK was a bit of a generalisation and assume it was deduced from what you've read/heard about rather than what you've seen. Just remind me how many incidents involving Cardiff have taken place this season?

Sure it's a generalisation - but the thing about stereotypes is they tend to start from somewhere. I've no idea how many incidents have taken place this season: maybe the club has finally cleaned up its act, after being whipped into a frenzy by its own owner (Hammam, I mean)? But the club is still followed by mentalists desperate to confront the English wherever they can, and chavs looking for trouble. There aren't many grounds I wouldn't watch Norwich at: Portman Road isn't one, but Molineux, the New Den and Ninian Park certainly are.

Hammam has been gone for quite a few years now. A new 30,000 seat stadium opens at the start of next season. And Cardiff's youngsters have produced an income stream thats saved the club from the abyss of Vlad/Pieman scale debts and a team that's a good bet for the play offs this season (better bet than Norwich anyway).

I spent an excellent afternoon in the stand at Ninian Park a couple of weeks ago with a couple of away (Palace) fans. They were encouraging their team without getting any hassle from the soul crew maniacs they were sitting amongst.

I'll leave it there....

Add Stoke to your list and I agree. Millwall are nowhere near as bad as they were though. The last time they came to S6 you could fit their entire support on one coach and it was predominantly teenage chavs acting the hardman with no real trouble. EVERY time Stoke or Cardiff come there is large numbers and always trouble.

Sounded like a superb atmosphere though. I remember being at Ninian Park a few years ago - 110% racist towards the English. But 110% funny as well.

Hilarious.

But Molineux ?

Have been many times and apart from the Baggies I've never seen any bother. Not once.

But back to Cardiff. The worst of the worst.

I met two guys from Cardiff in Greece a couple of years ago. One guy looked like he suffered from serious burns and I eventually asked his mate about it.

His mate had many CCFC tattoos which he'd had removed under laser treatment because he'd been involved in so much trouble because of them.

And he was one hard guy.

I have - over and over again. Norwich and the gold **** do not get on: many Canaries fans hate them way more than Ipswich, mainly because of bitter experience (and we've only won there once in our whole history too ). I've never found Molineux, Elland Road, St Andrews, Turf Moor or Bramall Lane at all welcoming; conversely, I really like The Hawthorns and Hillsborough. Cardiff is another level entirely though, as you say.

Who were you supporting when you've been to Wolves, out of interest?

Absolutely. Leicester and Derby have a certain, um, 'element' - but Stoke are hardcore, and nasty, nasty folk.

The Naughty Forty Thousand  who will claim to turn up to every away in the Premiership in mass numbers but then attract so much attention that they're escorted everywhere. ****houses.

Out of interest, when exactly? Wolves fans went through a phase circa 2004 to early 2007 of total apathy - it took McCarthy working wonders to rekindle the edge around the club. But it's often a horrible, horrible place - and as mentioned above, Norwich and Wolves do not get on. Indeed, surveys have suggested that Norwich fans hate Wolves a lot more than Ipswich.
