Stone Roses second album is the stuff of utter, utter genius.

Classic way to run as well. Awesome first album and genius second album.

Nowhere else to go and they are the finest band of their generation. Hardly blowing it spectacularly.

Its a tough one to put in are The Roses. They could not actually record for a while due to court cases with Silvertone and then with Gareth Evans. When they came out of this they tried to get some stuff down but it jut did not happen. They taken a break and came back with The Second Coming, an album with some very good, some good and some poor tracks on it.

By this time another Manchester band had stole their thunder.

The Reading 96 footage is truly disturbing. The keybord player Nigel Impson (?) telling the crowd, "Put your hands in the air for The Roses" - dear oh dear

Think Squire got out at the right time.

Love.

Too many drugs and egos at play.

Agreed. That and a flat refusal to tour, and even THINK outside the U.S.

Damn shame.

The Libertines

Not handling their highs has screwed up many a band, but these kids had something special I think.

The Libertines were absolutely fantastic. Completely different to anything before them.

They'll be back.

Bob the builder - Christmas number 1 massive sales in America - and then he started hanging about with Moss and Winehouse - complete smack head now - always 'fixin' stuff - tut tut!

Kingdom Come with Arthur Brown. Their third album was an unheralded masterpiece and after that contractual problems and probably a lot of class A drugs caused their demise. The same could be said for the eponymous Arthur Lee and his band Love.
