If this geezer was still playing for St Midden would he get picked for Scotland ? it appears that the minute you sign on the dotted line at rank Ger's you instantly qualify for an international cap:rolleyes:

Do you wish Hibs had signed him instead of van Zanten?

Was sent this prior to his first cap. Sums things up pretty well me thinks:-

The Glasgow Rangers player Kirk Broadfoot has today revealed that he has

been part of the Channel 4 TV show 'Faking It' for the last 3 years.

The player broke the news today at a hastily arranged press conference as

it emerged new Scotland manager George Burley had drafted the 'player '

into his squad for the up coming world cup qualifiers.

Broadfoot who told the waiting press that he was in fact a carpet fitter

from Fife said ' This experience has been great but I now feel that I

would totally be out of my depth and there was no way I could let the

country I love so much down by pulling on the dark blue jersey'

Channel 4 have defended their decision to allow Broadfoot to move to

Rangers from St Mirren.

Saints have issued a statement saying ' The program makers approached us

with their plan, we were only too willing to be a part of their

experiment. We started that season with 4 or 5 new players and knew one

was from the program'.The only real surprise said saints boss Gus

McPherson is that the player is not Will Haining, considering his

terrible start to the SPL season.

Rangers would not be drawn on the future of the player at Ibrox only

saying in a short statement ' Kirk has been one of our most consistent

performers over the last 18 months'. Gers boss Walter Smith was

unavailable for comment.

The S.F.A chief Gordon Smith was quick to back Burley after some

sections of the tartan army turned on the manager and pointed out what

they have always known, that any carpet fitter from Fife could get a game

for Scotland if he wore an OLD FIRM strip.

Aberdeen were last night quick to reassure fans that Jamie Langfield had

not been part of the experiment.

That has been the case for some time now.

Barry Robson is another example although he was called up for a friendly but never got to play while he was at united!

Im sure it happened to Tosh McKinlay too when he left for Celtic. he was then immediatly called up the scotland squad. I may be wrong with that tho!

This is the reason I have no time for the national team.

It's not as some posters seem to think that if you don't follow the national team then you obviously have 'leanings' toward Govan.

I used to follow Scotland regularly but I finally got fed up of good players being overlooked in favour of OF squad players.

I totally agree with you on this and feel exactly the same, most of these players are the ones that you hate playing for sellick and rankgers, however i exclude Paul Hartley as he was one of my favorite players when he was at Tynecastle.

I personally am more interested in the England team than Scotland these days, and i would also say that Burley is not doing much of a job anyway.

Will Scotland ever qualify for the final stages of either the European Championships, or the World Cup ever again.

As long as players of the standard of Kirk Clubfoot are playing id say not a cats chance in H - - l.
