The man is an ersehole.

Many public sector workers are comparitively low paid, yet he highlights heads of department posts.

The same person who would rally to the banner of free enterprise and the private sector now looks as if he is simply jealous of people working for local or national government.

Surely he misses the point of the free market, you know, the value of your investment can go down as well as up? That's what is happening to these businesses now. It's obviously not a good thing but what can be done? Surely this is a case of the market deciding? Survival of the fittest and all that other Thatcherite claptrap....

The guy is an erse of the highest order. A complete fandan, sensationalist moron.

And, as you say, like many 'free marketeers' he doesn't really 'get it' does he...

What an idiot, job security for public service workers isn't a given. Only last night Aberdeen Council were having to find massive savings which will undoubtedley lead to job losses.

Is the article about public service jobs or the bitterness toward the Guardian? After seeing the phrase the Guardian for the umpteenth time, I "lost the will to live".

The fact that he now writes for the Daily Mail, speaks volumes of his "quality".....

Littlejohn is right up there with Kelvin MacKenzie on my list of total fandans.

He needs to relax and calm down before he has a heart attack.

Not everybody is out to get you, Richard.

Is it coincidence that they look kind of similar?

Boris in the same way he misses the point of the free market he absolutely nails stone dead the creeping culture of the nanny state and the burgeoning army of people that contribute nothing to the UK other than layers of officialdom. People like the officials that banned playing conkers at school cos it's a health risk. They are the tip of the iceberg and he's 100% correct to get ripped into these people.

By Governmental stealth or the sheer ignorance of the people, we collectively have allowed ourselves to be methodically subjugated into an Orwellian existence that would make uncle Joe Stalin proud.

Arguably the reason these people are employed are so that individuals do not end up sueing Local Authorities etc and gaining massive compensation pay outs. So it's actually a way of protecting the tax payer rather than being a burden upon them.

Uncle Joe was alright....:whistling:

It's an arguable point alright ;) I reckon that would be a 4 pager on it's own.

Uncle Joe just went about things the wrong way. Hard labour and torturing were blunt instruments whereas our governments (both red and blue) have gone for the more subtle methods such as CCTV cameras (a staggering 25% of the worlds CCTV cameras are in the UK) and the new RFID passports which apparently have the capacity to be tracked from distance (great distance). They know where you are, where you have been and what you have been doing. Big Brother is watching

Stalinism pales against Capitalism and the fear of losing the 'capitalist way of life'. Security is the new terrorism.
