Broxburn Jambo
I was just watching MOTD and it occured to that while we moan about the loss of Skacel and Bednar surely Ricardo Fuller has gone on to be more of a success than either of these two or a few other Hearts players who have left Tynie. Say What Again
True BJ, but Ricardo was never really 'ours' to lose. Wasn't he on loan from Tivoli Gardens?

And at that time we couldnt afford to buy/keep him at tynie as these days we can afford to buy/keep players. But some off the players we have sold have gone for a lot more than we expected. wibble
Don't forget that Vlad has got consistently more for outgoing players than any previous director would have. Pieman would have sold Gordon to the uglies for 1m as quick as you like. Prices for Skacel and Bednar were pretty good too considering Bednar looked injury prone and inconsistent and Skacel has turned out to be a flash in the pan. Goose Baxter
we could afford but CR would'nt take the risk If he had taken the chance, Do you not think we would have been in a worse state than the club was in at the time. Or could it not have gotten any worse?
TNCASTLE
It all started when Willie Wallace went to the 1/2 Bigot **** in Weege. It has been downhill since then!
Coco
Good to see Ricardo and Roman playing in the Premiership. And good to see the likes of Craig Sives, Stephen Simmons and Andy Kirk doing well at the top of the First Division up here. I like to see our ex players doing well. Craig Sives isn't an ex-player yet Coco as he's only on loan to Queen of the South and if he keeps on playing well for them then who knows whether he might yet still get a chance at Hearts depending on what happens in future... I thought he had been moved on. Good to see him rebuilding his carreer. Don't forget Lee Johnson, Jamie McAllister and Craig Gordon who are doing well. Did someone not mention that Petras is doing well? Yes, Craig was always going to star. But Lee Johnson is a player we should have kept on. Bill Mc
we could afford but CR would'nt take the risk CPR had a deal in place to buy Ricardo Fuller for ?500k. The deal fell through when the plug was pulled on the tv deal. Not exactly CPR's fault in this case.
WASTREL
we could afford but CR would'nt take the risk Mmmm ....the price was ?1M and we could not get medical insurance for the deal because of his previous injury problems. All Fullers transfers since have been from clubs who could afford the risk.

Jammy T
IMO this is the best team of the Romanov era. In just 3.5 years we have shed 9 out of 11 and replaced with hugely inferior quality. Gordon Neilson Elvis Webster Fyssas Driver Hartley Brellier Rudi Janny Bednar Also gone (who were better than current 1st team options) IMO - Tall, Velicka, Pospisil. Cost cutting may be cited of course, but in Robinson's last year of 3 or 4 years of cost cutting we had a better core of player than we do now

Some of the better reserves have also gone. To be fair, the club and the Romanovs couldn't afford a team of the quality above. But it wasn't necessary to have such a ludicrous management system/player recruitment and motivational system.

True, but RF didn't want to stay with HMFC regardless if we had managed to stump up the cash to buy him. He attended one of our supporters club dances and couldn't be arsed signing autographs or getting his picture taken, done loads of moaning though because someone had the nerve to spill a wee drop of a pint on his shoes, couldn't get out of the place quick enough. Robbie,Stevie Fulton,Maybury and the rest had a rare old time but he just sat with his puss tripping him, looking like a crap snoopdoggy lookalike. I thought all of Ricardo's injury problems with transfers went back to him doing in his cruciate ligament while at Preston after he had played for us, i don't remember any injury history being an issue just CPR not willing to splash the cash as it was considered a lot of money with no guaranteed positive return
WASTREL
Are you sure? I thought all of Ricardo's injury problems with transfers went back to him doing in his cruciate ligament while at Preston after he had played for us, i don't remember any injury history being an issue just CPR not willing to splash the cash as it was considered a lot of money with no guaranteed positive return His problems were previously with his back and (in the opinion of the medical insurance underwriters) because of the high probability that any recurrance would put him out the game medical insurance was declined. To sign him Hearts needed to pay the transfer as a "cash deal"...... a difficult one to sell to the BofS who would have been effectively funding it and sharing the risk.
