Worth Getting Lifted For ?

Cant help laugh at the Spurs fan who raced on to the pitch when Lennon scored their 4th tonight, then ended up at the bottom of the pile of Spurs players celebrating.

Hopefully they let him off with a fine and nothing more severe, he will be the envy of his Spurs mates for a long time :)

Take a bow son ;)

I was at the game, just back - cracker.

Arsenal still bemuse me, we had them stitched up in the second half - then towards the last five minutes (and additional five of extra time) the passing got sloppy and the shape fell apart. Insane scenes at the end, but please - the first Spurs goal, HAVE YOU SEEN IT? Half way line!

I wasn't too far from the fan who ran on the pitch - looked like he was escorted back into the fans and no action taken - he'll be happy.

A fine or a ban would be worth it for that. It's something he'll remember for the rest of his life. Usually players have fits when fans enter the park as far as he did, Tottenham players were just so delighted they were happy to cuddle this random guy.

What a game.

What a night.

Get it up you Arsene and Cesc, you 'orrible arsenal *****!

For running onto the pitch? On this ocassion no harm was done, but fans running onto pitches is bad news, you surely cannot defend it. Does a player have to get stabbed or something before people realise that fans need to stay off the pitch.

Can see your point if this was the oppositions fan that ran onto the pitch and confronted the players but this was one off their own.

As you say no harm was done and this will always be the case when these things happen.

Aas one poster said, no harm was done so the stewards let him back in with his fans.

Of course it is wrong, but last night was pretty exceptional circumstances and the raw emotions of a football fan can sometimes make you do crazy things. I just thought the way the Spurs players welcomed him into their celebratory huddle was unusual and good to see.

By the way I have no affinity to Spurs, just commenting as a (sometimes emotional) football fan.

We cant all be super sensible in moments of madness

Must admit I thought that would have been amazing to have been him. Don't give a toss about spurs or arsenal but what a tale for him to tell.

My word man... maybe we should all sit in seperate cages at the football, who knows what evil beast could be sitting next to you at the next game.

As a side note arsenal let me down last night on coupon which was slightly gutting after everton who i was waiting scored in the last minute.

Do you think each fan should be strapped into there seats? Jesus his team just scored in the last seconds against there biggest rivals cut him some slack

Mr Romanov Saviour of HMFC

That was a great moment.

Fair play to the Spurs players for piling on top of him!

Players usually sh*t themselves when a mere mortal makes it onto the pitch. :)

Question:

Who was the little Hearts fan (maybe 5 foot nothing) that was on the pitch at Celtic Park when we won the cup in 1998?

No, it's not Sinky.

When your team scores a late goal like that the adrenalin just takes over.

I've been on the track/pitch a few times over the years. I know exactly how the boy feels, the last time it happened was when Weirys 4th went in.

That feeling of pure elation is what it's all about and anybody who thinks otherwise should perhaps think about taking up other pursuits.

What? They could always hang around at the players entrance later and jib them there! Football is about emotion. Never forget it.

I remember some wee gers bassa running on the park and jumping on Hearts scarves.

I hope that made him feel better after seeing his multi-millon pound team pumped by Colin Cameron & Stephane Adam :P

Had you not left the building by that point? I seem to recall (being the optimist that I was) that I was on my todd when the 3rd and 4th goals went in.

I seem to remember a junkie looking gers fan ran onto the ibrox pitch and charged towards our end after we had scored during the 97-98 season.

About 5 stewards had to tackle him to the ground - pure comedy.

The game was a 2-2 draw (Albertz 97th min deflected free kick equaliser:mad:).

Anyone else remember?

Sure one of the guys from the Armillan Bus got lifted that day for running on when Jim Hamilton scored.

My mate managed to get Gattuso's shirt off him that day (or was it the week before) because it was the last game he played for them IIRC. Gattuso got completely mobbed if it's the one I remember

The fan on the pitch moment is one of those that reminds you of the beauty of the game....it was refreshing to see the Spurs players letting him into the huddle and was probably quite poinent (sp?) given what spurs have been through this season.

A ban or fine would be unjust as now harm was done and added a sense of magic to a brilliant match.

Haha I remember this - was a boy from up my way whom I went to school with.

Craig Fisher was his name IIRC - and boy did I envy him that day!

When Weir's second went in I ended up on top of the John Robertson Lounge contemplating whether or not to try and jump into Lower N.

Most mental I've ever gone at a game I think.

Last minute winners/equalisers. Canny beat 'em!
