Level Playing Field on Sunday?

I see we have Craig Thomson as the man in charge on Sunday.

Although he's from the west coast he's always struck me as being the best of the bunch just now.

Maybe, just maybe, we'll go through a match without players being needless punished and the talking points being about the football and not the mistakes or perceived bias of the match official! Or is that asking too much?

Problem, do you pay more attention to a low volume noise hidden behind a pillar away in the gods, or the vast noise created by the noise that surrounds you. Being human tends the favour the latter by nature.

Most do - but not all!

Yes but he lives in Paisley and will return to that area to work and socialise.

By The Light..

level playing field on the part of the SFA officials, but I wouldn't bet on it.

However will we shoot ourselves in foot with random team selection 4 5 1 and poor subs?

no doubt they will get a dodgy decision, that's inevitable. I'd be happy if we gave them a good game obviously i want us to win but something daft always hapens in these games

Surely the answer is for games such as this to be taken by someone from Dundee or Aberdeen. The SFA seem to have a very poor system for allocating officials to matches - or do they?

Thomson in the games I've seen him handle over the past couple of seasons has always struck me as being far better that some of the poor excuses for impartial officials that we've seen recently. I take your point however regarding his home location and the pressure he may well be under.

In one of the early CL press conferences he stated

each team is the same...11 players on each team only colour of strips is different, both teams play with the same ball...its how they adapt.

So if the Hearts players adapt correctly and all play as a team with no passengers I would be pleased irrespective of who the ref is or any (alledged) GFA bias.

If Hearts are leading, you can be sure that Celtic will get the benefit of some ridiculous decision to get them back into the game.

No chance of a level playing field, I'm afraid.

You have to tell your players what Fergie told his Aberdeen side:

The ref's gonnae give you nothing - if you're fouled, get up and play on - you're wasting your time complaining to the ref, and he'll use it as an excuse to book you - the opposition, meanwhile, will get away with murder, and will use every dirty trick in the book - don't rise to it - the only way to beat them is to keep the head, stay focused, and play fitba' - if you can do that, we've got a chance!

Sad but true!

I remember Fergie saying that, when he played for Glasgow Rangers, the officials would say to him "that's our ball, son", etc!

As much as I like Csaba, I doubt whether he has the nous to tell the players this, but Mikey Stewart should!

Well done lads, most of you have us beaten already.

FFS and we say Celtic fans live in a fantasy world where they are victims!

Every bad decision is not us being cheated.

He is also in charge of Celtic's game tonight at Killie. Seems strange that a ref takes charge of two games in a row with same team........unless the SFA/SFL know that the tic will need help in both games. He has already denied Killie a reasonable pen shout.

Sorry, mate - you misunderstand! This is my fault - perhaps I didn't explain myself properly?

I'm not saying we're beaten already - I'm saying we'll stand a much better chance of doing them if we approach the game properly - i.e. in a focused and disciplined manner! Worked for Fergie, didn't it?

He actually gave Killie a freekick for Nakamura's dive and didn't book him!!! Utterly disgraceful decision.

If that were truly the case then surely we would get the decisions at home. Not how I remember home games v them.

Best thing for us to happen is he gives Celtic absolutely everything tonight (going by other posts this seems to be the case) and JJ/Killie let rip tomorrow.

Perhaps the thought of being shown up as totally inept (*COUGH* Biased *COUGH*) twice in the space of 4 days will play on his conscience.

Or perhaps not.

not only did nakamura not get a booking, despite the ref giving the 'foul' the other way... there was no tv replay, there was no talk about it from the commentary team, and there has been no review of it at half-time.

it's been erased from the record, it's been decided by someone that it should be censored.

are we living in russia?

This also applies to McGreedy's blatant dive that got a Killie player booked.
