He had a couple of decent parts of games last season. Thats not class in my book. He isnt class. Full stop. He's left footed. What was so difficult about asking him to play left midfield ? Cant beat a player Cant tackle Loses possession constantly Cant pass Doesnt get himself in a position to receive a pass Has no heart for it See ya Ruben !! Wouldn't agree with that personally. Solid performance Berra 7 - Decent display Zaliukas 6 - Apart from mistake at goal thought he did well Stewart 7 - Always wants to get involved. He deserved a goal after all his efforts Aguiar 8 - We have missed him so much. Always eager to get forward. Best man on park again today Karipidis 7- broke up attacks and linked play with midfield. Palazuelos 6 - Thought he was totally lost at times. Not one of his better games but don't think conditions suited his play. Miko 6 - Needs to get more involved. Nade 7 - His 1st touch is terrible. If he could control the ball without it going 3 feet away then we might have a chance. Can't complain about his all round play though as when the ball is at his feet he can beat players at ease. Jonsson: 7: Solid - stuck to his task and combined well with Miko on wing. Berra: 7: Again, solid, dependable but needs to be a more overt leader. Zaliukas: 6: Big blunder and nobody knows it better than him. Plus points for getting over it and having a good game thereafter. Wallace: 7: Much, much better than recently. Great run and shot for goal. Miko: 7: Was doing very well until Conroy got him. Worked very hard in tracking back in support of Eggert. Good runs out wide with Eggert in overlap but needs to make better choices with shots/crosses. Stewart: 7: Controlled aggression - excellent! Karipidis: 7: Has become more adventurous in midfield role and is now making good runs forward out of midfield. Working with Stewart and Aguiar seems to suit his game. Bruno: 8: My M-o-M. Another controlling display - he is what we have been missing in the middle. Palazuelos: 7: Quietly efficient - his work rate up and down the line helped Wallace. Nade: 8: To me, a close second to Bruno. Strong, good control, powerful runs problems. Needs a forward to play off him. Subs Cesnauskas: 6: Didn't get long but really cut them open when he came on. Berra (6) As for Jonsson. Zaliukas (5) Have to downgrade him for the blunder leading to the goal, which I actually missed however it's well documented on here. For the remainder of the game, he was reasonably sound for me. Wallace (7) Better from Lee. Always suspect as an out and out defender however has a bit of quality marauding forward. Miko (5) Tried but ultimately nothing came off and not his day. Needs to work on delivery. Received a daft booking. Stewart (6) Quietish performance, seems to be more at ease with Bruno being the focal point as a playmaker. Karipidis (6) Improving in this position but would prefer him at the back with Berra. Bruno (7) Another effective performance, does the simple things to dictate play and make openings. Ruben (5) Quiet performance, clearly not comfortable with position and no contribution of note. Nade (5) Strong on the ball but shot shy doesn't even begin to describe Nade. If this is as good as we're going to get from Nads, then it's going to be a long season. Toothless. Chesney (7) Great cameo from Chesney, very incisive in a short space of time and might prove to be a good impact player this season. I wouldn't have him start next game based upon this as it looks to me like he could become our super-sub. Mole (2) Enough time to make an impact and blew it, doesn't have that cutting edge. Other than that, tidy. Audrey - not nearly enough time to give a mark. Some of the comments based upon his 5 minutes on the park are pathetic. Not both, just one, and on yesterday's evidence Chesney did better with limited time, and Miko is just a marked man for refs, who would be better continuing his career elsewhere. When a club is over ?30 million in debt surely it is prudent not to have two similar players in their position. The role that they play is not a crucial one in the team and, in my opinion, the system could be adopted to do without them. It would be totally different if they were goalkeepers, ball winning defenders, playmakers or goalscorers because back up is required for these positions. If you feel that the Lithuanians in our present squad are enhancing it that is your perogative. It is not for me to tell you what to think.
