Niresh,

1 day leave absences do not require a medical certificate as stated in my contract, provided I have stated that I am on leave for medical reasons.

Thanks

Hi Kyle,

Usually that is the case, as per your contract. However please note that leave during these occasions is only granted for genuine medical reasons. You line manager has determined that your leave was not due to medical reasons and as such we cannot grant leave on this occasion.

Hi Niresh,

My leave was due to medical reasons, so you cannot deny leave based on a line manager?s discretion, with no proof, please process leave as requested.

Thanks

I would be mortified if my manager saw some of the stuff on my bebo.

In fact a lot of folk I work with are on it so you do have to watch yourself.

A few guys at my work were fired because of a video someone else put on bebo of them.

Also know of people being refused jobs due to bebo etc.

Anyone who sends an e-mail like that to a manager should be sacked on the spot.

I got a warning a wee while back for using Facebook at work too much. Then a few weeks ago they decided to block access to it altogether. Just this week access has been reinstated and a new set on Internet Usage Guidelines drawn up.....funnily enough, our Head of IT has just created a Facebook account himself.

:rolleyes::D

I shut my Bebo account down owing to the fact I never used it and also employers etc do tend to check it these days.

Facebook is fine as long as you keep your profile private and make sure your mates dont set you up to look like a bell end.

I wouldn't be surprised if employers quite often check out applicants' facebooks... there is the story of the guy who lost out on a job because his profile specified "enjoys: smoking blunts with da homeys".

Common practice with the Canadian Government, Law firms etc....

People who don't keep their profiles quiet deserve all they get.

it's easy enough to do that on bebo, it's not that easy to do on facebook though. Everyone has it as well
