Martin_T
Album of the year so far in my opinion, although I am a bit biased what with being a huge fan of the Beta Band and of the Aliens first album. It's received some excellent reviews from a variety of sources: http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/features/out-of-this-world-the-aliens-952206.html http://www.culturedeluxe.com/news_item.asp?id=4850 The video for the single Magic Man is also available online: http://www.thealiens.co.uk/visual.html

Gigolo-Aunt
Will definitely be getting the album on pay day. Great band. Will burn you it. Very good album. Was not 100% sure at first, as it does combine many styles of music - maybe just seemed a bit jumpy on the first few listens. Well in to it now. Martin_T
Nice one. Remember and buy the album as well though chief! I'd like to think they'll make enough money off this one to make a sequel!

Craig_
Have to admit I'm a bit disappointed with the new one, sounds more like one of Anderson's solo albums. The only exception for me is the last tune which is an absolute blinder. A fitting follow-up to Ionas Look For Space at last!

The second last track on Luna, 'Boats' is actually a the opening track from Gordon Anderson's solo album (as Lone Pigeon) Schoooozmiiiiii. I found his solo stuff quite frustrating as there is a lot of good fragments of melodies etc but the ideas are never quite fully executed. I think the presence of Robin Jones and John McLean in the Aliens has helped him to fully develop some of these ideas. I listened to Luna again on the way home from work and it definitely has improved with each listen so far.
