Captain Canada
After all Gordon Smith's efforts to get this game and assure the fans that Argentina would bring their strongest squad to justify the high ticket prices, it's been announced that Lionel Messi has been given permission to miss the game and will stay with Barcelona. Seems Smith knew nothing about it! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/7662092.stm

Captain Canada
I'm sure at the time it was being discussed Gordon Smith said Argentina's match fee was ?1 million. Without Messi I think the attendance will be affected and the SFA will do well to break even out of this game. Although this says they lowered their fee but not sure by how much. http://www.soccernews.com/scotland-v-argentina-friendly-back-on-after-ticket-deal/8166/
