Has anyone got that link to the Hearts strips that we have had over the years?

I mind it was posted ages ago? Don't think it was London Hearts though.

We should give the black socks with maroon & white turnovers another go - I quite like the look of the inter-war year strips.

I find it funny how certain tops remind you of certain players!

95-97 one mentioned above reminds me of John Millar.

97-98 reminds me of Thomas Flogel.

00-01 makes me think of Colin Cameron.

02-04 reminds me of De Vries.

04-05 is Joe Hamill!

And that horrific 06-07 one reminds me of Takis!

Anyone else think of players when they see tops or just me?!

Must have been a pain geting the grass stains out the white trousers in the early days!

Also struck me that this is the first time in our history we haven't had white home shorts. Don't like the all maroon kit, its not right IMO.

Me too. The 'De Vries' top will always hold special memories considering my son Callum Conor Mark was born at 5 minutes to 3 on 11.08.02. 2 hours old and he'd already lived through a 5-1 drubbing of the methadone boys. My missus heard a wee girl at school this week telling him she supported Arsenal and Spurs (!!!) and he replied that his dad says he has to be a Jambo!

They've got 1991/92 wrong.

It had the 'Hearts badges' in a different shade running through the material, like 92/93.

Millar only played 22 games in 1995/96 before heading off the Raith as part of the Colin Cameron deal.

I would much more associate him with 1991/92 where he played 49 games; or season 94/95 when he scored nine goals (2nd only to Robbo).

But then you got me thinking. What players do I associate with certain strips or seasons? Starting from around the time of Millar, I see mostly players who were there for that season, or for more or less a short time. The Robbos and Mackays, the Pressleys are ALWAYS a constant so I don't include them.

91/92 - John Millar, Graeme Hogg, Ian Baird.

92/93 - Alley Mauchlen, Peter van der Ven.

93/94 - Mo Johnston, Justn Fashinu

94/95 - Willie Jamieson, Colin Miller, Craig Nelson, David Hagen

95/96 - Allan Johnston, Gary Locke, Pasquale Bruno, Alan Lawrence, Rousett

96/97 - Neil McCann, Colin Cameron, David Weir

97/98 - Stevie Fulton on form, Stephane Adam, Thomas Flogel, Quitongo

98/99 - Vincent Gurein, Darren Jackson, Gary McSwegan

99/00 - Robert Thomashek, Annti Niemi, Gary Wales, Fitzroy Simpson

00/01 - Kevin McKenna, Gordon Durie, Juanjo, Robbie Neilson

01/02 - Ricadro Fuller, Tommi Gronlund, Stephen Simmons

02/03 - MDV, JLV, Andy Kirk, Scott Severin, Phil Stamp

03/04 - Dennis Wyness, Patrick Kisnorbo, Craig Gordon

04/05 - Paul Hartley, Miko, Chesney, Lee Miller, Mark Burchill

05/06 - Skacel, Bednar, Janny, Brellier, Pospisil, Fyssas

06/07 - Zali, Velicka, Karipidis

07/08 - Stewart, Audrey, Kingston, Nade

There's been a huge difference in colour down the years.

The low point was the 'red' Bukta effort from 90/91 (and you could throw in a matching shell suit in those days).

Even the 'Thorn Security/Novaphone' strips were pretting light in colour.

Then when Admiral came on to the scene, it went a sort of purple colour, or at least it seemed that way whenever it was a midweek match!

2000/01 went a bit too light, but I really liked the design of that strip (with the round collar), although you needed a six-pack to wear one at 5-asides.

The first Reebok strip was much more 'maroon', but I didn't like the navy trim, and I hate it when they mess with simple maroon and white, like they did last season with that horrible gold trim.

One of the worst strips has to be the baggy 'Olympic' effort from 98/99 with the naff 90s collar and strippy hip. I think the company went bust soon after. They did however do a nice away kit in 99/00.

My favourite of late is this season's strip. Nice design, simple and dark marron. Pity about the maroon shorts.

Best of all time is 77 to 82. Just a pity we were gash back then.

...and of course, the 'silver' 83-86 away top.

The errea kit still gives me nightmares of Petric.

The best kit was 1986 home - which hangs up in my room - unworn! :)

I really like this seasons strip as well. I'm a big fan of the maroon shorts as well for some reason.

I liked the 05/06 Hummel effort as well.

Last season and the season befores Umbro efforts were very poor.

Think we are in a minority AP but I loved that strip. The pic doesn't do it justice!

Liked it too although its one I never got.

Alo liked the white with the maroon stripes around the same time, and the white blue and maroon Pony effort.

My age plays a big part in the whole John Millar scenario though, that's the thing. I only started going to games as a 5 year old in the 95/96 season, and to be honest from my extremely hazy memory I remember Millar, and Alan Lawrence!

However I do still insist on wearing an away top from 92/93....

I thought it was erra that went bust, as Olympic still made strips for Dundee United after we got shot of them.

My favourite for the maroon colour is the 86/87 top. Naff collar though

I loved that strip; very dark maroon.

And the all white away kit is great too. In fact there's a nice clip of Wayne Foster (in the Back from the Brink video) getting it right up Jim Leighton with the 86/87 away kit.

I'm not sure mate, although I remember Dundee Utd had the same sort of strip at the same time.

Olympic were based at the Whitefield Industrial Estate in Bathgate. I know this because I once found myself in there (because of work). The place was a right midden.

It was definitely Olympic Sports because Erra still make Middlesborough strips.

And Inverness Caley Thistle maybe??
