Is it ok to...

If they're extremely dark brown shoes (almost black in appearance) then you might pull it off.

But no to any other shade of brown.

Only if you wear white socks as well.

A paisley tie will set your look off just nicely;)

Or better still, a cartoon character tie and matching socks.

wear brown shoes with a black suit?

brown shoes with a black suit is absolutely fine. i wear brown/tan shoes every day with black trousers to work.

on a side note all grey suits should be burned as they are totally vile.

I'd say it is ok with black trousers only, with a suit it may look slightly stupid ;)

Absolutely NO!

I hate folk who wear white socks with a dark coloured suit too

White socks with any colored suit should be a no no. Even a white suit.

Right thanks.

Reason being I don't have to wear a suit for my job but have a thing coming up that I must wear a suit for. Only suit I have is black and only smart shoes I have are a fairly dark brown.

I don't think there's much wrong with it provided the shoes are a dark shade. Then again I'm hardly a male fashionista.

Brown and Black will be OK if it's for the Directors Box at Easter Road.

I bought a suit the other week. Thinking it was black. Actually turns out it was very dark brown. Looks kack with my black shoes/tie. As a result havn't wore it yet. Overall very nice suit but I fear it will go to waste.

Never brown with black, but brown shoes with a grey suit is fine.

Apparently your shoes should never be a lighter colour than suit/dress trousers. So it's a no..no
