I can't believe the Matrix is number 39. Apart from impressive special effects at the time, the film was average at best. It should not be anywhere near the top 250 IMO.

The Matrix was so much more than just "impressive special effects". A truly landmark film IMO. Shame about the utterly pointless and stupid sequels.

My top 5 (In no particular order)

Rocky (370 - Farcical)

Pulp Fiction (9)

Resevior Dogs (97)

Snatch (466)

Scent of a Woman (Not listed)

Agree with some of them however I do disagree that there is 97 better films than Resevior Dogs and 466 better films than Snatch.

The fact that Pacino's best performance (by far and away) isn't listed is a bit of a joke.

The Dark Knight at 15th of ALL TIME is a feckin joke. Casino in at 395, Wall-E above that at 373 is a disgrace.

Zulu at 351? I would've thought that would be alot higher up. Is Jason & the argonaughts even in it?

But I suppose these polls are all about opinions and they spark up debates like this.

De Niro isn't in Carlito's Way.

Ach, they are both the same!!!:P

OBVIOUSLY, I meant Pacino, and those that said Scent Of A Woman are wrong. ;)

Any movie on that list made since 2003 should be removed from it. If it hasn't got five years under its belt, it hasn't stood any test of time.

Having said that, any of you lot who dissed the 2007 version of Transformers can sod off.

It's got big huge explosions and Megan Fox - what the **** else do you want?

Some Arnold Schwarzenegger would have been nice.

I have now devoted 10 minutes of my life to reading that list.

I now have the rage, in a serious way. Utter, utter crap the ratings that some films have. Ben Hur being a good example, OK it is too long and looks very much of it's time. But you don't pick up that many Oscars and not even make it into the top 400. FFS even Titanic made it to 336 based on it's Oscars.

And I refuse to take a poll that doesn't mention Anaconda seriously.

I've got The Sting (127) to watch tonight. Any good?

I've not seen very many of Paul Newman's films, so I'll need to get Cool hand Luke and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid out soon.

As I haven't seem quite a few of these so-called "claasics" according to this list I'll just list my favourite films rather than what are probably the best films of all time in my opinion.

In no particular order:

Brighton Rock, Goodfellas, Die Hard, Reservoir Dogs, Scarface, The Wrecking Crew, The Godfather, Shaft, American Werewolf in London, Jason & the Argonaughts.
