heartsfc_fan
I know there's a few of these threads popping up now and again, but I want peoples view on this. I'm after a 26" HD LCD TV. I'm on a budget, so that probably rules out the top makes like Sony, Samsung and Sharp. If you shop about you can get one or two for under ?250. Found these two: Bush: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5291845/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CHome%2Bentertainment%2Band%2Bsat%2Bnav%7C10199181/c_2/2%7Ccat_10199181%7CTelevisions%7C10199303/c_3/3%7Ccat_10199303%7C26%2Binch%2Bto%2B28%2Binch%2BLCD%2BTVs%7C10199304.htm Logik: http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/store/cur_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1688159833.1223631550@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccgfadefgghhlhgcflgceggdhhmdgmi.0&page=Product&fm=12&sm=0&tm=0&sku=425883&category_oid=-34804 ?30 difference between the two. However Bush is a semi-decent make, so maybe be the better option? Then again, the logik has a much better contrast ratio* and delivery is free if I went for that. *Does the contrast ratio make any difference? Jamboy81
In that price range there probably wont be much difference in picture quality etc. Sometimes you find the "no makes" are actually the best low budget ones. Try going in the shop and seeing them first hand and reading up on some forums http://www.lcdtvreviews.org.uk/ http://www.which.co.uk/reviews/lcd-and-plasma-tvs?CMP=KNC-GOOGLE&HBX_PK=Jellyfish&HBX_OU=50&jtid=16149407&source_code=1LU08W As for the contrats ratio, apparantly it does make a difference to the number of blacks it can display or something. I'm not sure if it's visible to the human eye, maybe just makes the picture a bit clearer.

BlackJAC?
whatever you do, do not buy from Asda. Their tv's are notoriously bad and they come bottom in almost every test that includes them.

Their tv's are notoriously bad and they come bottom in almost every test that includes them. Ha ha. no. I had a quick browse on their site, but there was an awful lot of brands that I hadn't heard of... "Onn"? etc. At least if I stick to something along the lines of Bush or Goodmans, they aren't too bad.
