US, UK, Eurozone, Canada, Sweden and Switzerland all cut rates by 0.5%.

Might stave off depression and allow everyone to settle for recession!

Everything is fine again !!

Or maybe not :)

The fundamental problem remains. The fundamental problem is too much debt. Lowering interest rates will not solve that.

They may be hoping to inflate the debt away by unleasing a period of high inflation. Doesn't look likely though with the credit contraction we have just now. Also for this to work they need wage inflation to soar. Not looking that likely now with the state most companies, and the job markets, are in.

These people don't know what they are doing. They don't know what to do. They are simply "twiddling with the knobs" and hoping something works.

Anyway if high inflation happens I am fortunate nearly all my savings are linked to inlfation and not interest rates. They also have the best guarantee possible. They are also tax free.

NS and I Index linked Certs.

I doubt rampant inflation will occur though. but who knows !!

They are following the Japanese perfectly so far. Nationalise banks. Lower interest rates. Get too involved.

Result = decades of stagnation.

Nice.

jambos are go!

One good thing about this is that the hands off freemarketeers have hopefully been totally discredited. One bad thing is that IMO its far more likely public sector workers(in spending cuts) will lose their jobs than the private sector pirates who put their own greed and wealth before the needs of their companies and the country. I was tempted to say shareholders but the exchanges have not fallen that much are and will continue to recover whilst the taxpayer takes the risks on ac ?500billion rescue plan.

I like to see bankers blood on the street(metaphorically). NEVER AGAIN must be the thrust and outcome of impending regulation on banking rules as we move into an age of Government rather than chaos.

We will soon all be public servants, with one currency, one interest rate and one Government.

Globalisation is upon us?

Over to you Coppercrutch, i think you know more about this than me?

I think Maroonlegions is the man for the job !!

Although for all his conspiracies the NWO/money masters/fed idea is certainly the most believable.

Many highly thought of historical figures thought along the same lines. There is plenty of real evidence to support this.

The currency aspect is interesting. I can see that happening. It has already happened for nearly a complete continent. Only a few more to go !!

As for one Government not so sure. They are all far too far up their own arses to give in to somebody else.

I go for war to start with !! Sad but very possible.

Eh, that's what Marx was saying all those years ago.

Liberal democracy is essentially a sham because the elected representatives have no control because the money masters call the shots!

You mean you've only just realised?

The front cover of the current edition of The Spectator is genius.

Apparently all of this financial meltdown is the Left's fault!

Have you looked at David Ikes website?

His Big Brother talk is quite interesting.

I just watched it last night, i remembered him from his Terry Wogan days and thought he was a complete nutter. Some of the things he preaches are still hard to fathom but a lot of it makes perfect sense.

Fractional reserve banking is explained very well.

Can someone post the link? ( yet to learn)

Perhaps his alien friends can help recapitalise the banking system. :whistling:

To be fair to David Ike I have heard a lot of stuff about him. Seems he suffers a lot from his lizard chat. However this seems to discredit a lot of the feasable and interesting stuff he apparently says.

I am going to youtube him and give the lizardman a go !!

Who would you choose to believe - Broon or Ike.

The Lizard man wins hands down. :)
