Which players were at fault for the goals?

In your opinion.

Stewart for the 1st, stupid tackle. He almost gave another away when he failed to control a ball in midfield which lead to Gomis hitting the bar.

Jonsson for the 2nd. Stood and watched the guy shoot inside the box.

Kello for the 3rd. Caught in no man's land.

You can't fault Kello for the third goal, it was poor defending.

You've got 3 big men (Berra, Zaliukas and Karipidis) in there and they can't defend it. NOT GOOD ENOUGH

Kello should have stayed on his line.

The Dundee United guy was clueless about the third goal - Karipidis headed the ball out the way & it hit Robertson & spun back into the net - it was a deflection more than it was anything deliberate.

Kello should still have stayed on his line. He had no chance of winning the ball.

Goal 1) Stewart made a stupid tackle which led to Free-Kick.

Goal 2 ) A combination of Miko for losing possession easily, Berra and Zaliukas for getting drawn out of position and not marking their man and Jonsson for not getting over quicker to cover.

Goal 3 ) Kello came for it with no chance of getting (something he did a few times on Saturday btw) but Karapidis was unfortunate the ball rebounded off the Utd players head.

Re: stewart for the first, fair enough, but kara gave the ball away in the run up to stewart needing to tackle.

The second I thought was zal's fault, watched it again and although jonsson didnt get to the man, it was zal's lapse which led to the united boy having all that space.

jambos are go!

Jonsson is a young player who will improve but has a lot to learn. Being caught on the wrong side of the second scorer was very poor. A similar mistake from the more experienced Austin McCann at Easter Road was the final straw that cost him his Hearts career. Hopefully Jonsson will learn.

The first goal was a great strike and the third a bit of a fluke. You cant argue with 3-0 though.

Yes but did you notice the pathetic header out of defence by Zaliukas which went straight to a Utd player resulting in Stewart's poor tackle.

Our defence constantly sit too deep allowing far to much space between them and our midfield so our midfield have to come deeper resulting in us virtually all in our own half of the field.

This is not a new problem but one that certain teams who know this can exploit.

Our defence do sit too deep - Berra is captain & controls the back line - he creates this problem but he can also easily solve it by pushing them higher up the pitch.

No doubts about the faults for the goals.

1) Stewart - Silly tackle

2) Berra - ball watching again! Jonsson could have came over quicker as well but Berra was in no mans land and not marking.

3) Karipidis - not strong enough. He should have been right through the ball and player the lot with more aggression.

I think you will be waiting a long time to see Karipidis showing more aggression. I posted a similar comment - if he wants to play in the SPL he should have been clearing everything out. But I am reminded of Pressley's supposed comments on Karipidis which someone posted on here about how he 'didn't like heading the ball'.

For the 2nd goal, I think Neilson would have been much better at covering across for the centre backs. We are losing an average of 2 goals per game since he dropped out with injury at the start of the split last year.

Zaliukas & Berra are reasonably good at coping with height and on saturday Dods & Wilkie kept them fully occupied at set-pieces however United are such a big team that it was their other big-guys Daly, Robertson & Sand-dancer that caused us problems in the air in our box.

Yes, we have way too many lightweight saps in our side.

They are OK at set pieces but not the best from crosses in open play and the second ball. They both ball watch. Berra has been like that since his reserve days. Again it comes down to the coaching.

Captain Lithuania
Kello should have stayed on his line.

Seriously. It's not his fault. He's one of the best players we have atm and long may he play for us. It must be what.. His first "mistake"

He has been good for Hearts but he did come in to no mans land for the goal, had he stayed on his line it would have been an easy save. One mistake doesn't make him a bad goalie.
