neave
I'm currently studying Howard Gardner's 'Multiple Intelligence' Theory, which basically states that intelligence isn't one fixed number or statistic, but is spread across a range of different fields. It's useful in realising this as it shows that childrens' intelligence may lie in other fields and not necessarily in more 'academic' sections. My tutor gave us all a link to a test so we could get our own 'multiple intelligence map' and I thought it'd be quite interesting to share it with you and see what kind of range of intelligences we have here! http://www.ldrc.ca/projects/miinventory/miinventory.php#form I took it, and my main intelligences lie in the linguistic, musical and intrapersonal fields, with my worst performing areas being visual/spatial, logical and naturalistic by some distance. Over to you! Edit: If you want to find out more about your best (or worst)-performing areas, go on this link and click on the sections on the left: http://www.multipleintelligencetheory.co.uk/

coppercrutch
I found another test from your second link. Do I get a gold star. Seems I am 'Nature Smart'. http://www.boffinsquad.co.uk/activities/multipleintelligence/nature_smart.aspx?rank=1 Did your one too and similar results. I should be a fisherman !! It's blatantly bollocks. Not quite as black and white as 'everyone is good at something', more like not everyone is good at the same thing. Obviously there are hunners of intelligence and educational theories, this is just one that certainly isn't perfect, but has some credibility. It's also comforting for the stupit kids. Obviously you can't compare individual scores with others as people respond to such surveys in very different ways but it's useful enough for showing an individual how he varies(or how he think he varies!) from facet to facet.
