Holders Rangers have been rewarded for their extra-time win over Partick Thistle by a home tie against Hamilton in the Co-operative Insurance Cup.

it's just a cliched "more interesting" way to say "rangers have got hamilton in the next round"

You'd think the writer could come up with something that was genuinely a more interesting way to say that but hey.

I think you are misintepreting the use of the word rewarded, what they mean is that as a result of... aw feck it, you know what they mean.

Most clubs, if not all, who get a home draw in a cup tie class it as a reward.

But this is only the Preliminary Draw.

In a couple of hours' time when they have found their specs / sobered up / put in their hearing aids / consulted with sponsors and the Old Firm they will announce the REAL Draw because that is the way the SFL conduct these things.

And you'd think the poster could finding something more worthy to get his knickers in a twist about.
