I honestly never knew this!

Not a great source, I know, but BBC Radio Scotland yesterday stated (about 2.30) that Ukio Bankas is not solely owned by Vlad, but by a committee, not all of whom are as crazy about financing Hearts as Vlad is - hence the reason for resources being allocated elsewhere other than Gorgie.

I must be very dim indeed - I thought Vlad had sole control of Ukio Bankas.

Slightly worrying?

Ukios Bankas is quoted on the Lithuanian Stock Exchange. VR is the largest shareholder in it but has less than half the shares: he owns 30 or 40%.

What much of the media miss is that the key company is UBIG, not Ukios Bankas. UBIG is a secretive and unquoted company. The offer document for the takeover of HMFC showed that VR controls 70% of it.

VR's HMFC shareholding is held through UBIG and the recent ?12m capital injection came from it

IIRC Vlad owns 29.9% of the shares in Ukio Bankas.

His Wife/Mum (can't remember which) and Rodney also have shares.

I can't remember if the family shares are included in the 29.9% or not.

Good knowledge, guys!

The main reason for my surprise at this (other than pure ignorance) is that I cannae imagine Vlad being an equal business partner with anyone - too single-minded, I woulda thought!
