IronJambo Posted September 20, 2008 Share Posted September 20, 2008 Went to upton park today to watch the hammers. my first trip there and it felt strange being in such a large home crowd (a couple of hundred short of 35,000). Newcastle were murder but still managed to score the best goal of the match. At their best the hammers reminded me very much of Hearts in burleys short era, with neat passing and all their attacks coming from the midfield. very good going forward at times. at their worst (couple of twenty minute periods) they were woeful and again reminded me of Hearts. punts up the park to the target man who was left on his own with nobody to give it to. all in all a well deserved win for wham and they should've scored more. it was all topped off when i was listening to a bunch of geordies on the tube after the game, the youngest lad of the crowd said: "i woke up when the third goal went in. i thought, man thats them 3 goals up now like. what a disgrace, fallin asleep at the game. i was proper sleepin for ten minutes!"
