Maple Leaf
I was honoured by the Queen once. She invited me to go along and join her army for a couple of years. Very insistent she was ... wouldn't take 'No' for an answer.

Boris
Actually, HRH has little say in the honours list. It is the Govt that really decides. Lord Archer springs to mind as an undesirable recipient. My Grandad got the MBE, but he deserved that!
I P Knightley
Lord Sebastian Coe - OTT if not wholly inappropriate Sir Bob Geldof - scruffy get Barry Ferguson David Beckham Any other sportsman who receives an honour in the immediate aftermath of a notable victory (e.g. the England cricket team who won 2 matches against Australia) Actors Actresses Captains of Industry Chief Executives of NHS trusts Probably most of the folk who've had honours are 'unworthy'. They've already reaped the rewards of their endeavours with wealth, fame or glamour. I know two people who have received honours. One (a mate's dad) has accumulated many millions from his business endeavours so doesn't need anything to recognise this. The other is a gobby little bint who's managed to talk up a fairly routine piece of work into a massive (& successful) sales pitch for an OBE. PS Lester was stripped of his gong after lying to the taxman twice and getting jailed.
