Beslija to sign up at Tynecastle

Hearts say the protracted deal to sign up Bosnian winger Mirsad Beslija is close to completion.

A statement on the club website reveals that a fee has been agreed with Racing Genk along with personal terms with the 26-year-old international.

 

Beslija has passed a medical and a work permit has been secured, while the player should register early next week.

 

Hearts also hope to bring in Benfica midfielder Bruno Aguiar before the January transfer window closes.

 

The deal for Beslija almost turned sour, with the Belgian club threatening legal action.

 

Genk were claiming Hearts had reneged on an agreement to pay a fee of 1.2m Euros for the player by later offering 800,000 Euros.

 

Reports then suggested Hearts had stalled because they were unhappy that agents fees had been added to the original fee.

 

Beslija has been five years with Genk and had been linked with Sunderland and Dinamo Moscow.

 

An expected fee of around ?850,000 would be a club record for Hearts.
