Boris
100km South of Stockholm. http://www.skavsta.se/en/content.asp?area=2&id=62 No offence, but why ask on JKB first? Why not try a wee Google search first and do your own research and then ask questions if you're not sure? Eeek...merge with JKB Room 100 thread....! Have a great trip anyway i8hibsh and enjoy Stockholm. If I ever go there I promise to ask you first all about it!

IronJambo
flying from prestwick? its a pain the the rectum from what i'm told, as much a pain as it is getting to and from prestwick. your quicker and probably cheaper (taking into account all costs) flying direct from edinburgh to arlanda with sterling.dk or sas, i've used them both and they were decent enough. geddy
There are buses waiting to take you into Stockholm when you get through the airport. As far as I remember it is about an hour and a bit into town. Ask for a timetable for buses for coming home when getting bus into town. The timetable tells you what bus to get for what flight! Not something you would expect here, forward planning! Really lovely place and good folk. If its still there I recommend the Wasa museum. Have a good trip. Really lovely place and good folk. If its still there I recommend the Vasa museum. Have a good trip. A great place. Sodermalm (the island south of Gamla Stan) has a thriving nightlife. Gamla Stan itself is a must see in itself. The island of Djurgarden has the Vasa mentioned above as well as a funfair park if you're taking little ones along. There are numerous boat trips around the archipelago. Good day trips froms Stockholm are Drottningholm and Birka. A wee bit pricey - not as bad as Copenhagen mind - but there are plenty of compensations. One of my all-time favourite holiday trips was Stockholm. Enjoy! I'm the first one with the hands in the air when they ask who wants to go out there.!! The last time I left the travel booking with the office they booked me in to fly to Stansted then change out to Skavsta from there..!!....muppets. Normally get into Skavsta and then hire a car to head out west.........lovely
