Thaksin's funds were frozen but because he has absconded from bail and his wife is a convicted criminal on the run they have now been confiscated. Deliberations are ongoing as to how they will be used. He has millions invested overseas and in offshore accounts as well as the 60 odd suitcases containing further millions in cash his family took out the country shortly after the coup.
