davieholt
From UK Wire Forth Ports PLC has today received the approval of the City of Edinburgh Council's Planning Committee for its Leith Docks Outline Planning Application, the largest planning application in Edinburgh's history. The application, submitted last September, sets out a vision to create a thriving, sustainable urban place at Edinburgh's waterfront where people will want to live, work and visit. How come Forth ports can get planning approval in 12 months for the largest planning application in Edinburgh's history while Hearts are getting the runaround for a miserable stand / hotel combo ? Politics Didnt we actually only put this application in about Feb this year in the end therefore its only been 6months. Also there are other issues in the application that need to be sorted by Hearts as well as the council. No politics just council taking time as have we. Politics Huh where are they going to get the money too build this Grunton harbour leith super new town, all the existing builders have stopped, and you can pick up a 2 bed flat for 150k that was 270k last year, this scheme will be lucky to be even half done in 20 years time, the council should prioritize projects that will actually get built like our new stand. Politics well i would not describe the new stand /hotel combo miserable for a start it looks pretty impressive from the photos i have seen of it , we are a different kettle of fish from the waterfronts plans , we will get the go ahead, the cooncil know it makes sense to bring jobs and wealth for the city and also boost tourism and revenue, IN TIME IT WILL BE APPROVED. BobbyJenkins
They applied for outline planning permission, weve submitted a detail planning application. An outline app, as the name suggests, sets out the general proposal. Plus the forth ports app is probably a more important development in the eyes of the startegic planners. Ta . . and to Maroonlegions - I only meant our proposal was miserable in terms of scale in comparison to the Leith development. I'm sure it will be wonderful when built
