How the banks never lose

Dispatches Chanel 4 at 8.00pm Monday.

Should make interesting viewing.

The self congratulatory back slapping overpayed high flyers have been hoovering up bonuses for the last decade in a market cycle when they couldnt lose.

Did any of them consider that this cycle may slow or come to an abrupt halt?

Did they put any of their monster profits aside for a rainy day?

No they continued to polish their egos by buying up every possible acquisition as if it was a game of monopoly, for years they got away with it because every roll of the dice landed favourably for them.

Well the only square on the board they never managed to get their grubby hands on was Mayfair and it had a monster hotel on it.

They have just managed to land on it three circuits of the board running and they dont have the capital to pay the debts.

Game over surely, but none of the execs are willing to fall on their swords.

No they are too precious for that, they are going down with their ships.

If they dont come up with a double six soon i think it should be the jail.

Nothing more than an ordinary punter who can see through their rob from the poor give to the rich philosophy.

As someone once said "a banker will lend you an umberella when the sun is shineing and ask for it back when it starts raining."

See - Sir Fred Goodwin.

The ABN AMRO purchase shows the guy has little clue about the bigger picture.

The REAL smart guys look good in the bad times - not the good.

Fred has failed drastically on that count.

Dave the banks are sharks big time and when im on, what about pensions.

If that was the man on the street losing millions in a trust fund.

He would be jailed for cooking the books.

BRITAIN sucks.
