Jambo Martin
That would kill all the nepotism in favor of things 1 & 2. If I remember correctly Glasgow Refs weren`t allowed to Referee Old Firm games 10 years ago but the SFA changed this ruling. Didn`t work because the Refs just moved to Balfron or Lanarkshire! inside right
That would kill all the nepotism in favor of things 1 & 2. I would go further and insist on non-Christian referees then the bigots wouldn't claim that the ref was biased on religious grounds(at least the usual complaints). JamboAl
That would kill all the nepotism in favor of things 1 & 2. Absolutely correct. Shoe Dallas mentioned yesterday in the Sunday Hun that refs and their families live in fear of a backlash from fans if they give the "wrong" decision. Most of the refs come from the GFA area and the GFA keep appointing them for the bigger games involving the OF, so are they asking for trouble or is there another reason for these appointments? Would it not be better to simply appoint a more geographically neutral ref to reduce that risk anf if that doesn't work (because there are OF fans everywhere) then we need to import foreign refs who incidentally should travel by scheduled flights and not someone's private jet.
