Geoff Kilpatrick
MacDonald - 7 - Solid debut with one very good save. Helpless at both goals Thomson - 6 - Did well first half but looked ropey when a winger came on Wallace - 5 - Distribution was awful. In my view, it was never a penalty though Berra - 7 - Solid and didn't give Boyd a sniff Karipidis - 5 - Anonymous Zaliukas - 8 - MoM. Perhaps it was because Velicka was awful but was a standout at the back Ksnavicius - 4 - Juanjo without the tricks, i.e. can't play away from Tynecastle Stewart - 5 - See Wallace re distribution Mole - 5 - Worked hard but his runs into the box are awful. Doesn't seem to have any predatory instincts Kingston - 4 - Awful. Dropped for next week please. Driver - 6 - Our only attacking threat but the final ball was disappointing Subs: Nade - 3 - Bonus points for looking more like a footballer Mikoliunas - 2 - He is being victimised Cesnauskis - 2 - No real impact
Devries4
MacDonald - 7 - Seemed to take the game in his stride. Thomson - 4 - Not convincing. Wallace - 6 - Did ok. Berra - 7 - worked hard. Karipidis - 5 - either at the back or don't plaay him at all. Zaliukas - 8 - Easily the best player on the park. Ksnavicius - 3 - Never looked like doing anything to be honest. Stewart - 6 - worked hard. Mole - 4 - Sorry but not today. Kingston - 3 - Very poor, maybe cos he knew he wasn't going to get Barry's top today. Driver - 5 - Flattered to deceive. Subs: Nade - 2- He is not fit, Csaba said as much yesterday. I like him on the ball but shouldn't be near the first team. Mikoliunas - 1 - Is that three times now sent off against Rangers? I'm sorry but it was coming whether deserved or not. Cesnauskis - 1 - doesn't look interested. Dougal - 0 - it is getting boring now.

Groot
MacDonald - 7 Good debut Thomson - 5 Poor man's Robbie Nielson Wallace - 5 Poor distribution and skinned by a centre half for the first what more can I say Berra - 7 Solid as usual, dominated Boyd in the air Zaliukas - 8 MOTM Solid just shaded Berra, always seemed to be in the right place Karipidis - 5 Hardly seen him for most of the game but put in a few timely challenges, one bad mistake almost cost a goal Stewart - 6 Always available just didn't happen for him Kingston - 5 Poor again, final ball was shocking, unlucky to be booked Driver - 6 Should have had Clubfoot on toast, crossing not great Ksanevicius - 4 Anonymous, too light weight Mole - 6/7 Quiet first half but won a fair few headers off Weir, improved in the second when he had a partner Subs Nade - 6 Looked fitter and caused some problems, got a bit isolated after sending off Miko - 3 Not a dive but stupid challenge invited the second yellow Chesney - 3 Didn't have much of the ball

Le Chat
Ksnavicius - 4 - Juanjo without the tricks, i.e. can't play away from Tynecastle Seem to remember everyone saying that last season too. Hopefully it won't take Csaba long to realise it.

h-e-a-r-t-s
MacDonald - 6 - looked competent but not much to do Thomson - 3 - no pace, no strength, doesn't read the game well Wallace - 4 - slow and lacks awareness, at fault for first goal Berra - 6 - solid at the back, distribution could be better Karipidis - 5 - looks generally assured but always seems to ****** up spectacularly once or twice a game Zaliukas - 8 - ultra solid Stewart - 6 - captain material, decent distribution Ksnavicius - 2 - did nothing. save him for games v the wee teams. Mole - 5 - hugely mediocre. Kingston - 5 - dissapointing, but needs support. Driver - 5 - capable of so much better. seems to lack confidence v old firm. Subs: Nade - 6 - held ball up a few times, still a few pounds to be shed. Mikoliunas - 10 - SFA lol lol lol, SFA lol lol lol Cesnauskis - 3 - meh
sweaty
MacDonald -7 very competent, kicks well, a bit bigger than i thought. Thomson -7 solid, looking more confident every week. Wallace -6 average. Berra -7 defended well. Zaliukas -8 best game in a Hearts jersey, looked very comfortable all afternoon. Ksnavicius -5 not his best. Stewart -7 gave his all. Karipidis-6 played pretty well but definately a defender. Mole -7 put a good shift in. Kingston -3 come on Larry, not good enough. Driver -5 seems to be lacking confidence. Subs: Nade -5 there`s definately a player in there. Mikoliunas -5 marked man, first booking was a foul for us, second a forwards challenge.(someone on another thread was critical of his discipline, but he showed terrific restraint to leave the field as he did) Cesnauskis -4 one good run. Dougal-0 some things never change, disgusting performance. Shabba-felt he made a good sub with Nade coming on and going 4-4-2,feel maybe bringing Kingston into a central role and taking Karapidis off for Miko may have been the way to go. No doubting his passion. Like to hear what he says re ref after watching game again. Hearts support-10 absolutely outstanding, withstanding grief from the great unwashed, glesca police and shocking refereeing and still singing to the end. Really proud to be a Jambo today, but why do we have to accept the obvious cheating in our game.
bighusref
Karipidis - 5 - either at the back or don't plaay him at all.Kingston - 3 - Very poor, maybe cos he knew he wasn't going to get Barry's top today. Driver - 5 - Flattered to deceive. I missed the first twenty minutes so will refrain from posting ratings but from the 70 odd minutes I saw, these three players were key to our game IMO. Karipidis showed AGAIN he is not a defensive centre half. R@ng*rs could swarm over our defence as and when it suited them, I rarely saw Karipidis do the dirty work of tackling and breaking up play. The only moment of note I remember is him very nearly gifting them a goal in a Mark Kerr at the Scottish Cup Final way. Kingston, bags of talent but he is failing to put that into the team. There is no point having a supremely talented player that does not show his talents. Driver AGAIN decided he would not pass to a Hearts man. He either ran in a straight line and passed it to the R@ng*rs defence or lost the ball. We are not good enough a team to carry him running in a straight line and doing nothing. Gambo
McDonald 7 Not much to do. Thomson 5 Not convinced with him. Berra 7 Lapses at first goal but otherwise a good game Zaliukas 8 MOTM Along with Berra kept Rangers away from McDonald Wallace 6 Poor at first goal, wouldn't hound him too much for the challenge for penalty. Kingston 4 Non existant Stewart 6.5 Gets stuck in but gives the ball away cheaply Karipidis 6 Done his job protecting the back 4 Driver 5 Tried hard with no reward. Ksnavicuis 5 Ball needs to stick to him more in that position. Mole 6 Decent shift. Nade 5 Getting there. Miko 0 Harsh double booking. Cesnauskas 3 Not too much time.
