I've often wondered before about this situation (when a player scores but gets lamped in the process), but since it came up again on Saturday, I thought I'd mention it. This has crossed my mind before how goalies seem to play under different rules on occasions. I can't think of an explanation for this. Anywhere else on the pitch and it would be a case of playing advantage if possible, then referee pulling up the offending player when play stops.
