Off to see Ammie Mann on Oct 26th.Never been to Oldfruitmarket before.Good or bad.

Saw Roddy Frame there a few years ago.

It is quite an atmospheric place. Good to go to a gig somewhere different. Can't remember if the sound was any good.

I like it. I've seen Dr John there twice as well as Jack Bruce and Richard Thompson.

It has several spiral staircases on each side of the hall which enable you

to gain access to an upper level for better viewing but you would need to go early for a good vantage point. They dont usually have any seating in the hall which makes it more fun if like me you like to move about a bit during the gig.

They also have a bar at the back usually serving cans of beer and plastic tumblers.

So yes it's fine as small venues go.

Just watch out for the "old fruits"

It's pretty good. I've only seen stuff there where you sit at cabaret tables though, don't know it would be like for a standing gig. It's quite big and very handy for Queen Street station if you're going through from the east.
